Litmus Blog: Litmus Partners with Spectrum Equity
Article by Paul Farnell via Litmus Blog
Ten years ago, I launched the first version of Litmus from my dorm room in Manchester, UK.
Over the course of a decade, Litmus has grown into the product you see today—a vital resource that is used by over 250,000 email marketers every month. We’ve relocated the headquarters to Cambridge, MA, and we’ve grown the team from the three founders to a talented group of over 40 people. It’s been an exhilarating ride.
Today, I’m excited to announce that we’re setting ourselves up for even bigger success in the next 10 years. We’ve taken a $49 million investment from Spectrum Equity.
Pushing the Boundaries of What’s Possible
Being a part of Litmus means pushing the boundaries of our craft. We experience this every day, from innovations that cut email testing time from hours to seconds, to being among the first to embed a live Twitter feed in an email. We are always testing, always pushing.
We’re always aiming to build products that our customers love. Products that make their lives easier. Now, our team can do that without limitation.
This investment will allow us to lead the industry and bring the next generation of email design and analytics tools to marketers. We’ll be able to make investments in our product without any boundaries. We’ll be able to give every email marketer the ability to send beautiful email—every time, everywhere.
In addition to product innovation, the funding will support international expansion, and a new focus on training and education. By providing email marketers with the resources they need, we can all continue to push the craft of email design forward.
I know that we will create the next big innovation in email—and that’s what’s so exciting to me about all of this.
I can’t wait for you to see what we build.
