Spectrum Equity’s Mike Farrell Named Top Software Investor of 2024 by GrowthCap

Spectrum Managing Director Mike Farrell, has been named a Top Software Investor of 2024 by GrowthCap.

In GrowthCap’s sixth year running this awards process, the number and caliber of nominees has continued to climb. To be selected as an awardee, a nominee must first have the strong support of others in the software ecosystem, which may include their own firm, their portfolio companies, and/or their peers in the industry, among others.

A former two-time recipient of GrowthCap’s 40 Under 40 award, Mike joined Spectrum in 2009 as a Senior Associate and has played a pivotal role in the development and execution of the firm’s software investment strategy over the past several funds. Over his 15+ years with Spectrum, his representative investments include CINC Systems, Origami Risk, Bats Global Markets, Datassential, EagleView Technologies, Expert Institute, Jagex, and Litmus.

“We’ve been fortunate to partner with great founders and leaders who have poured their energy into creating great businesses," said Mike. "We understand the great sacrifices they’ve made and therefore it’s important we approach our roles as business partners in a clear-eyed, conscientious, and responsible way. They’ve trusted us as stewards of their businesses and we appreciate their collaboration, leadership, and trust.”
