The Netcraft Story
Netcraft makes the digital world a safer place.
Founded in 1995, Netcraft detects and disrupts cybercrime globally. Their platform cripples millions of attacks each year, providing powerful protection to banks, corporations, government and infrastructure.
Netcraft analyzes over 5 million threat reports and suspicious URLs every day; their platform has blocked more than 200 million attacks to date and taken down over 20 million more. Their growing global customer-based includes the largest banks, technology companies, and world governments.
Netcraft & Spectrum
Spectrum spent nearly a decade getting to know the Netcraft team and business, watching it evolve over time into a globally relevant, highly disruptive cybersecurity business. The business had been bootstrapped for decades prior to our investment, having never raised capital.
At the time of Spectrum’s investment, Netcraft named new CEO Ryan Woodley, an experienced leader with a proven track record – as CEO Progressive Leasing, and as COO and CFO of Digicert. Netcraft has continued to ambitiously develop its platform: the company acquired leading Australian cybercrime detection and disruption services provider FraudWatch in 2023 and released an AI-powered fraud protection platform in 2024.
